The Departure Maya, Photoshop, Vue, ZBrush August 2010
The Departure is a steam punk interpretation of a drab suburban town in England during the industrial revolution, in which the steam-powered airships are leaving to discover a better place.
The steam powered airship here was created for Cornucopia 3D in Maya. The buildings were modeled for this scene. I used ZBrush for some of the architectural details. Some elements were reused from other projects to save time.
